I used to be a big fan of TBN, for those of you who do not know what that is
it is a television station, a “Christian network”. I have not watched TBN in a
very long time, I have friends who watch the station and feel I have somehow
left God because I no longer watch that station or go to their churches, on the
the contrary I have not left God, I have seen Him in a whole new way and it
is in the way I am suppose to see and know him. So for those of you who have
the pride to think you know what is best for me or the pride to think I have gone
astray and your way is the only way, then here is my answer to all of you. I no
longer believe in the way that you do things because I still the homeless without
a home while your “church building” gets bigger and more expensive. I still the
the hungry are still hungry while you are having to release the loops on your belt.
I still a nation who was suppose to be built of the freedom to serve Jesus who
have never heard of Jesus, I see you keep more cars than you can drive, more
houses than you can possible live in, more, more, more. I find that you are serving
self more than serving Jesus, I know that God wants us to have nice things but at
I don’t believe he meant that to be at the expense of letting others starve or go with
out the basic human needs. Just because you show up at a building on every time the
doors are open doesn’t mean that you are serving Jesus, some of you are just showing
up and some of you really believe that you are doing what God wants of you, and some
of you know that you are not but don’t have the heart or guts to stand up and make a
stand. There truly will be a day of accountability which of you can honestly stand
before God and say you KNOW you were doing HIS will. So I ask who has really missed it here.
Good morning Jerri,
ReplyDeleteYour blog reveals some very interesting and profound truths about religion in our country today. Are we living in a society at large that has "a form of godliness and yet deny the power of God"? I would have to say yes. I long for the day when we as the people of God desire to worship Him beyond a church program. I remember as a teen in church the leaders would have to wait on us while we were yet still worshipping and praising God! Sometimes it would be hours before they could lock the church doors... There was something "real" about it. There was a desire and a passion for God
that extended beyond the normal service time. Out of that came a need to serve our community. If ministry does not impact or change the world we live in, then what's the point? I encourage you to continue to pioneer what God is doing in your life. Thanks for sharing!
Have a wonderful day!
Tracey
