Pro 14:12, There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [ are] the ways of death.
I wonder how many people make choices before they consider the consequences, not many. I have been guilty of this myself, jump into a
decision before I truly considered what may result from that decision.
I have been listening more and reacting less….reason , I have no sympathy for some people these days. I have no reason to. When someone has been given sound and sane direction and they choose the
direction that results in negative results, yet they have been forewarned,
some have even tried the same things and get the same negative results
but will still make the same decision.
I should say that I no longer have sympathy for some, I have for others, there are those that are trying to make the right decisions and they still
feel like life is passing them by or that God has forgotten them, he hasn’t. My heart goes out for those who have not had the benefit of wise counsel, those who have no one to help them see all the consequences of a decision or action. Those yes they have my sympathy, to them they have my ear.
To those who keep making the same decisions and getting the same results, they bible calls you proud. You are puffed up in your own eyes and make yourself more important than you are, it is also called foolishness, so instead trying to find someone to bail you out, think of what the decision will cost you, it may seem like the right way but the end will equal death…
Hi Jerri,
ReplyDeleteI believe the greatest consequence of not obeying God is not being able to experience the freedom and the intimacy that comes with being in relationship with Him. We often focus on the visible results of our sin however the core issues begin in our hearts? Only God can change the condition of our hearts. I have compassion on those who seem to be stuck in a sin pattern as well as those who might make one wrong decision that can cost them a lifetime of hurt and injury. It boggles my mind at times to witness those who keep doing the same things year after year and the result is ever increasing chaos! However, I never stop praying that God’s love, power and authority will break that cycle. I agree that there is a BIG difference in a person who is hell bent on doing it their way and someone who is really seeking God’s council and genuinely desire to become more like Him.
These scriptures came to mind after reading your blog:
Proverbs 24:16 (KJV)
For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
Matthew 15:19 (KJV)
For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies
Proverbs 4:23 (KJV)
Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life
I Peter 4:8 (NIV)
Above all love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sin
Have a beautiful week!
Best,
Tracey
